Whether you're an employer, healthcare provider, regulator, or legal professional,
our team of experienced doctors and consultants is here to support safe, healthy, and sustainable work.

Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

Our team deliver the Gold Standard of Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs). An IME is an impartial assessment, conducted by qualified medical professionals to provide an objective opinion on an individual’s health status in relation to their work.

Employers, insurers, or legal representatives often request these assessments when clarification is needed regarding medical issues affecting employment, rehabilitation, or compensation.

Each assessment involves a comprehensive review of medical history and relevant documentation, and a clinical examination. A detailed, evidence-based report is then provided, offering clear conclusions and actionable recommendations.

Such assessments are frequently sought in cases where medical clarity is essential to inform decisions about work capacity, treatment planning, or legal outcomes.

Rail Medicals

Rail safety roles carry significant responsibility, making health and fitness an important part of managing workplace and operational risk.

Our Rail Medicals help employers assess whether workers are medically fit to safely perform safety-critical rail duties. The assessment may include nurse-led testing alongside a specialist physician assessment.

Medical history, relevant health risks and the requirements of the worker’s role are considered before clear advice is provided on fitness for work, any restrictions and recommended follow-up.

While we complete conventional Rail Medicals that are completed by doctors certified to do these, we also offer MRO services and IME services for rail workers.

Medical Review Officer (MRO) Reviews

A Medical Review Officer review provides employers with an independent and accredited professional medical assessment of alcohol and drug testing results.

Our qualified MROs review laboratory findings, relevant medical information and medications to provide a medical explanation for a test result.

This can be particularly important following a non-negative result, where prescription medication is involved or where further medical clarification is required.

A clear medical opinion is provided to support fair, consistent and informed workplace decision-making.

We also offer integrated MRO and Occupational Physician IME services where we provide clarity on the results and fitness for work.

MRO Review and Fitness for Work Assessment

Where an alcohol or drug testing result also raises questions about an employee’s ability to safely perform their role, a combined MRO Review and Fitness for Work Assessment can provide employers with greater clinical clarity.

The MRO component reviews and interprets the testing result alongside relevant medications and medical information.

The Fitness for Work assessment then considers the individual’s health in relation to their specific duties, workplace risks and safety requirements.

A detailed medical opinion is provided with recommendations regarding fitness for work, restrictions or any further assessment or support required, helping employers make informed decisions about workplace safety and return to duties.
